Autumn exhibition at Psykiatri Huset in Lund

22.10.2021

Back in my studio again, after a long and very much needed break during the summer. I have realised it is extremely difficult to keep working in the studio during the summer when my kids are home from school. I have tried every year up until now and it just does not work.

To be able to focus and concentrate, I need my alone time in the studio. And that is just not possible when the kids are home (since my studio is in my home). But taking a break worked really well. I realised I needed a break to step out of my creative zone and letting things go. To be able to refuel with new energy and motivation.

This autumn has started with an exhibition at the psychiatry hospital in Lund. They have a beautiful library with a gallery room where I am showing some of my portraits. They are emotional portraits connected to mental illness.

Because of the pandemic, there won't be any vernissage, which is a shame. It would have been really interesting to hear the views and thoughts of patients and people working in that environment and working with mental illnesses. I have left a guestbook and hopefully, some visitors will leave a thought or two...

Please feel free to come and visit the library and gallery room at Baravägen 1 C in Lund. (You don't have to be a patient at the hospital). They are open Monday - Friday 12.00 - 15.00.
